Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.
- B.K.S. Iyengar
Yoga means many things. One definition is "to yoke" as in "to bring together."
Combining my yoga teacher training with my background in human anatomy and medicine, allows me to bring together eastern yoga traditions with western perspectives in order to help you craft a practice that honors the needs of your own body and nourishes your soul.
My philosophy is that postures should be built based on a solid understanding of how human anatomy influences the movement of the body, not based on what we see on social media or in books.
I work with students of all levels and particularly enjoy the opportunity to work with students who are just beginning to explore yoga postures or vinyasa flow, but may have questions about how to safely align their bodies. I also enjoy working with students who are looking to customize their practice while healing from injury, managing musculoskeletal pain/discomfort or for whom some postures or movements have felt chronically challenging.
